The first public art exhibit of fall semester at 91短视频 features paintings on the theme, “Plan b,” by Julie and Scott Keen, collaborative artists from Charlottesville, Va.
Scott Keen is an assistant professor in the visual and communication arts department at 91短视频 for the 2008-09 academic year, and Julie Keen is director of the Harrisonburg League of Therapists. Both did their undergraduate studies at James Madison University.
An opening reception for the artists will be held 4-5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 in the art gallery on third floor of 91短视频’s Hartzler Library. The exhibit can be viewed daily during regular library hours free of charge through Oct. 4.
“Plan b” consists of a variety of paintings and works on paper incorporating a wide range of materials. The works are nonobjective and consists of organic forms, marks and texture. The layering of these forms are heightened by the use of transparency and the investigations of form and thought, color and psychology.
