A concert to benefit one of the area’s premier cultural events, the annual Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival, will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, at the Bridgewater Church of the Brethren, 420 College View Drive.
Seven musicians who participate regularly in the summer festival will play selections ranging from the Baroque period to the present.
Selections
Group members will play “Trio Sonata in G Major, BWV 1038” by Johann Sebastian Bach; “Quartet #2” by Franz Vincenz Krommer; “Midnight Child” by Charles Gregory Washington; “Premiere Trio, Op. 30” by Charles Huguenin; “Duo, Op. 13” by Alberto Ginastera and “Quartett No. 1, in Bb major” by Franz Anton Hoffmeister.
Performers
The performers include: , flute; Sandra Gerster, oboe; , violin; Douglas Kehlenbrink, bassoon, Les Nicholas, clarinet; Diane Phoenix-Neal, viola; and Beth Vanderborgh, cello.
A dessert reception will follow the program.
2010 Bach Festival
This year’s Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival will be held June 13-20 on the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ campus. Award-winning will be featured along with festival musicians and vocal soloists , , and under the artistic leadership of .
