Hongera sana to you both on the Distinguished Service Award! So well deserved! Stan’s mentorship for me (Tom) began with his admonition to Mennonite physicians to serve the poor at a Mennonite Medical Association meeting at Laurelville. Later he and Susan inspired us to go to Tanzania as well. Their friendship and example continue to this day for us. You both are an international treasure. Tom and Jill

Then when I returned to the USA we both lived close to each other and attended the same church. Your commitment to service has challenged me. How very interesting it was to read an article about the family we interacted with as EMC nursing students at the Shirati Hospital. We enjoyed getting to know your children as well. What priceless memories, some to laugh about and then some bring tears. Thank you for your service!

Oh so nice to see this article about Dr. Stan Godshall. I met him at Shirati Mennonite Hospital, Tanzania in 1982-83 where I used to work as a nurse in charge, female ward. Indeed he was an energetic professional.

I can’t think of a couple more deserving of the award than Stan & Susan. Intriguing that Stan introduced me to ham radio when I was 15 and many years later we used that medium to stay in touch when he & Susan were in Shirati. My wholehearted congratulations!

I am so blessed that the Lord gave me Stan and Susan as parents. They have been a wonderful example to me my whole life. I continue to be inspired by their desire and their willingness to serve others in so many ways. I admire them and love them so much!

I am so pleased that my brother, Stan and wife, Susan, received that service award. In Shirati they both had such a group of persons from their church and hospital who were happy to have them serve there. Stan and Susan led a Tour Group in Feb 8-20 of 2013 that I was a part of and it was so wonderful to see persons from their church give us all such a royal welcome.
