The Royals had their chances against Wilson College on Sunday in Chambersburg, Pa., but could not cash in, falling 3-0. 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ's field hockey women had a three-game winning streak snapped in the loss, with their season record settling at 3-2 after a weekend split at the Wilson Invitational.

The biggest drama of Wednesday night's field hockey game at 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ turned out to be when the rain would stop. After falling all day, the precipitation cleared just in time for the start of the Royals' 11-0 thumping of visiting Sweet Briar College.

Kicking their play into high gear after halftime, 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ's field hockey women scored a pair of goals to earn their first win of the season on Sunday, a 2-1 victory at Ferrum College.

Summer has brought a number of exciting changes to the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Athletic Department, including a handful of new faces and even some light construction to open up new office space.

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference named 14 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ student-athletes to the 2016-17 ODAC Sportsmanship Teams in their respective sports.

The 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ field hockey team has been given the National Academic Team Award by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). The award recognizes the team GPA from the fall semester of the 2016-17 academic year.
