The 344 in attendance in Yoder Arena Wednesday night experienced the full gamut of emotions, from joy to sadness, elation to frustration, and everywhere in between. And that was just in the final five seconds.

The Runnin Royals ended the game on a 33-12 run, picking up a 74-68 road win at Hampden-Sydney Saturday afternoon. 91¶ÌÊÓƵ's basketball men (8-7/2-4 ODAC) got a much-needed victory in the rigorous Old Dominion Athletic Conference, snapping a two-game skid.

For 30 minutes, Eastern Mennonite and Virginia Wesleyan went back and forth, locked in an intense battle packed with 17 lead changes and 10 ties. But midway through the second half, something changed.

One had to figure 91¶ÌÊÓƵ's basketball men were due for an "off" game. Unfortunately, it paired with an "on" game for host Lynchburg College, resulting in a 104-74 loss Saturday afternoon.

The pre-game hype for Wednesday's rivalry game between 91¶ÌÊÓƵ and Bridgewater never paid dividends on the floor, as the Runnin Royals scored the first 10 points on their home court and never looked back in a convincing 87-60 win.

The Runnin' Royals played D-I James Madison University to a 37-37 draw in the first half, and were still within 53-50 midway through the second, before the Dukes pulled away for an 82-65 final.

The Royals used good shooting and stingy defense to run away to a 95-70 win over Ferrum College Wednesday night in Harrisonburg. 91¶ÌÊÓƵ's basketball men improve to 6-5 as they prepare for a few days off for Christmas before playing a D-I James Madison next week Wednesday.

Hood College turned on the defense over the final four minutes of Sunday's game, scoring the final 12 points to send 91¶ÌÊÓƵ's basketball men to a 74-62 loss. The Runnin Royals allowed an opponent to shoot 51% for the second straight day, as they came home from the Rotary of Frederick Holiday Classic with a pair of losses.
