91¶ÌÊÓÆµ's disc golf team hosted a tournament at Westover Park in Harrisonburg this past weekend. Along with 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ, teams from Liberty, Gallaudet, NC State, UNC, and Appalachian State competed at the tournament.

91¶ÌÊÓÆµ's Power, Systems & Justice course (CORE 300) hosted a panel on the history of Harrisonburg's Northeast Neighborhood at the Student Union on Thursday evening. 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ History Professor Mark Sawin, Harrisonburg Mayor Deanna Reed, City Councilwoman Monica Robinson, and Deputy City Manager Amy Snider served on the panel.
Elizabeth Miller-Derstine, assistant professor of digital media, has brought a growing filmography and an increasing list of accolades to 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ. The VACA professor's debut film, Once Upon a Wetland, is eligible for Oscar consideration in the Short Documentary category.
The 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Chamber Singers took part in a hymn sing celebrating 500 years of Anabaptism at Hyattsville Mennonite Church (Maryland) on Sept. 27. The event also included a monologue written and performed by Kimberly Schmidt, professor emerita of history at 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ.
David Landis ’04 appeared as a guest on an episode of The Holler: A Visit Mountaineer Country Podcast. Known for his work in creating the 40-mile Jesus Trail hiking route through Galilee, Israel, as well as the 550-mile TransVirginia Bike Route in Virginia, the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ grad is the driving force behind , a regional project that connects cyclists to the backroads, trails, and small towns that make North Central West Virginia a unique place to explore.
Three Eastern Mennonite Seminary students and one Center for Justice and Peacebuilding student are recipients of Mennonite Church USA’s Scholarship for BIPOC Students. The scholarship recipients include Shana Green, pursuing a master of divinity; Makinto, pursuing an MA in Christian leadership; Jonny Rashid, pursuing a doctorate in ministry; and Mukarabe Lysaine Makinto-Inandava, pursuing an MA in conflict transformation.
Jesse Longenecker, a sophomore environmental science major who won the 2025 College Disc Golf National Championship in April, competed against the sport's best of the best at the 2025 U.S. Disc Golf Championship this weekend in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He tied for 30th place.
A clip of the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ men's soccer team's last-second, match-tying goal against Shenandoah University on Wednesday night appeared on ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 plays for Thursday, Oct. 2. The clip shows Royals goalkeeper Andrew Arledge launch the ball from midfield toward the net, where center back Logan Darrow heads it in as time expires.
Ishtiaq Khan MA '24 (conflict transformation), a refugee resettlement caseworker and restorative justice practitioner for The Refugee Center in Champaign, Illinois, received the Immigrant Leadership Award from the Champaign-Urbana Immigration Forum on Sept. 20. Through his work, "Khan focuses on helping people from war-affected and conflict zones like Afghanistan, Ukraine, Syria and Iraq, be it organizing children's education, finding jobs or honing in on health," states an article in The News-Gazette.
