{"id":36043,"date":"2017-12-08T14:38:16","date_gmt":"2017-12-08T19:38:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/?p=36043"},"modified":"2017-12-11T11:43:32","modified_gmt":"2017-12-11T16:43:32","slug":"students-honored-fall-recognition-chapel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/news\/2017\/students-honored-fall-recognition-chapel\/","title":{"rendered":"Students honored at fall recognition chapel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During the Dec. 8 Fall Recognition Chapel, the following students were honored:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Academic Success Center<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Linda Gnagey, director of the Academic Success Center, and Professor Vi Dutcher, with the Writing Program, recognized the following tutors concluding their service in December: <strong>Hannah Gross<\/strong>, <strong>Harrison Horst<\/strong>, <strong>Kat Lehman<\/strong> and <strong>David Nester<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Campus Ministries<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/emu.edu\/studentlife\/campus-ministries\/ma-pa\">Ministry assistants<\/a> completing their service are: <strong>Kyra Lehman, Holly Mumaw, Laura Rittenhouse, Jenna Lile, Clara Weybright, Anali Martin, Seth Peters, Aaron Gusler, Sarah Kline, Kate Kauffman, Hannah Wheeler<\/strong> and <strong>Joseph Harder<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/emu.edu\/studentlife\/campus-ministries\/ma-pa\">Pastoral assistants<\/a> are <strong>Alexa Weeks<\/strong> and <strong>Nathaniel Nissley<\/strong>. Brittany Williams was recognized for her leadership, academic performance and service by Professor Joohyun Lee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Multicultural Student Services<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Director Celeste Thomas recognized the Alpha Omega Dancers for Christ: <strong>Hannah Shultz, Delight Tigoe, Qing Wang (Freya)<\/strong>, and <strong>Kellie Serrell<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Black Student Union Board of <strong>DeVantae Dews, Childra Nwankwo, Ivan Harris, Jess Washington, Precious Waddy, Jourdyn Friend<\/strong> and <strong>Clarrisa White<\/strong> were also recognized for their steadfast leadership.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Music Department<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Luke Mullet<\/strong> was honored by Professor Ryan Keebaugh for achievement in composition and choral music (Professor James Richardson presenting). Third place was a three-way tie with <strong>Cameron Byer, Sarah Ressler<\/strong> and <strong>Lucas Wenger<\/strong>. In fourth place was <strong>Aaron Horst, Skylar List, Adam Peachey<\/strong> and <strong>Kayla Sauder<\/strong>. Rounding out the top 10 MVPs is <strong>Lauren Hartzler<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Student Government Association<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Outgoing members were recognized: from the executive council, <strong>Nicole Litwiller<\/strong>, vice president and <strong>Luke Mullet<\/strong>, secretary; and from the senate: <strong>Nathaniel Nissley, Abigail Shelly, Leah Wenger<\/strong> and <strong>Ben Zook<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Athletic Honors<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Student-athletes receiving honors and awards during the fall semester were also recognized.
