[Also see <a href=\"https:\/\/emu.edu\/now\/peacebuilder\/2020\/11\/11-6-2020-the-u-s-elections\/\">an 11\/6\/2020 post about the presidential election.<\/a>]<\/li><li>At the Washington Community Scholars\u2019 Center, based just four miles from the Capitol in Washington D.C., the staff reached out to their incoming students, set to arrive for orientation in five days, with an email. Later social media posts [view <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/WashingtonCommunityScholarsCenter\">Facebook<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/emu_dc\/\">Instagram<\/a>] condemned the violence and pledged to stand with those most threatened by the white supremacy espoused by some involved.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u2018Engaging others unlike ourselves\u2019<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In the email, Huxman and Kniss urged the 91短视频 community to view \u201cthe deeply troubling signs of political and civic dysfunction, including racialized responses to violence\u201d as a call to continue the important work of contributing to a healthy democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>As educators, we have a noble responsibility to equip our students with the knowledge, skills and dispositions to discover, analyze and evaluate \u201ca firehose of information\u201d for its accuracy, truth, usefulness and ethical ramifications&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>As a \u201ccommunity of learners,\u201d we at 91短视频 commit to a <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/emu.edu\/about\/life-together\"><em>Life Together<\/em><\/a><em> that privileges love for God and each other.
