I just got the oil changed; why is the engine light still on? Too much spice triggers my GERD. What do you mean my phone is obsolete?&nbsp;I just got this thing six years ago. <\/em>The car erupts in screams, only to be drowned out by the 91短视频 Chamber Singers, who launch into \u201cO Fortuna\u201d with its chorus replaced by &#8220;YOLO&#8221; (You Only Live Once).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scene, acted by local performers of all ages and titled \u201cOver The Hill,\u201d was one of the highlights of the Music Celebration Concert: An Evening with Madeline Bender that helped kick off Homecoming and Family Weekend 2023 on Friday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a data-flickr-embed='true' href="https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/easternmennoniteuniversity\/albums\/72177720311983604" title='Homecoming 2023: Music Celebration Concert by EasternMennoniteUniversity, on Flickr'><img src='https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53263000500_4f77fdec10_c.jpg' width='800' height='600' alt='20231013-Music Celebration Concert-036'><\/a><script async src='https:\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js' charset='utf-8'><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Madeline Bender \u201993<\/strong>, an accomplished soprano who\u2019s performed all across the world, provided the crowd that packed Lehman Auditorium with a smorgasbord of musical entertainment. She seamlessly switched from belting out \u201cShy\u201d from the musical <em>Once Upon a Mattress<\/em> to singing opera in French, Russian and Italian before launching into some of her favorites from George and Ira Gershwin and Cole Porter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bender showcased her vocal range while <strong>Professor David Berry<\/strong> was flawless at the piano, and the Jazz Ensemble shined. The musical sketch comedy that bookended Bender\u2019s singing proved to be the hit of the night, with the Lehman pews erupting in laughter. Those who missed it can catch a recording of the concert on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/live\/?ref=watch_permalink&amp;v=1053932739133571\">91短视频 Facebook page<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ryan Kauffman \u201999 <\/strong>and his wife, Valerie \u201999, traveled from Ontario, Canada, to watch their son, Evan, play the saxophone in the Jazz Ensemble. They said they\u2019ve been making the big trek each Homecoming in recent years. \u201cWe just always like hearing about all the new things that are happening at 91短视频,\u201d Ryan Kauffman said. \u201cThere\u2019s always new programs, the new people; it\u2019s exciting to see a lot of the new diversity initiatives.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Harrisonburg residents <strong>Ellen Bowman \u201974 <\/strong>and her husband, Greg, the trip wasn\u2019t nearly as far.
