of the ACRS series of 鈥淭he Geography of Our Faith鈥, edited by Nancy V. Lee, Nancy Farrar, Audrey
Metz and Kathy Fisher.
鈥淢aking a Difference in the Journey: The Geography of Our Faith鈥, contains Brethren and Mennonite Stories Integrating Faith, Life and the World of Thought. The 15 authors are: Robert Earl Alley, Martin Lehman, Fred W. Swartz, Beryl H. Brubaker, Joseph L. Lapp, W. Robert McFadden, Lee M. Yoder, Douglas Hostetter, Paul Swarr, Richard (Rick) Yoder, Richard L. (Dick) Benner, Lawrence (Larry) Hoover, Allon H. Lefever, Peggy B. Shenk, Shirley H. Showalter. Along with the Editor鈥檚 Preface, is the Series Editor鈥檚 Preface by Ray C. Gingerich, Foreword by Lee F.Snyder, and Introduction by Richard L. Benner.
Editor Nancy Lee continues, 鈥淭he tellers of all of these stories first presented them in the ACRS Monday Morning Breakfast series. Chosen by Ray Gingerich (then Director of ACRS), the authors of Volume 4 described the series of events鈥攐ften awakenings鈥攖hat led them to high positions of responsibility and resulting actions that changed鈥攁nd sometimes saved鈥攖he lives of many鈥. Editor Nancy Lee states: 鈥淲hile the first volume of ACRS memoirs (2007, 2009) traced the effects of a tumultuous century on mainly rural Mennonites who grew up to become leaders, second volume (2009) goes behind somewhat different scenes. Here readers鈥攁nd former 91短视频 students鈥攃an view what they wish they could have known about the crucial events and questions in the hearts and minds of these church and college administrators, professors, authors, and the ones who became internationalists.鈥 The storytellers in Volume 3 (2016), who included Church of the Brethren as well as Mennonite authors, illustrated鈥攊n the midst of a world of war and genocide鈥攖heir new perceptions of ways to serve. Volume 4 (2017) now concludes the series with the stories of both Church of the Brethren and Mennonite leaders whose different ways of serving enriched and, indeed, saved the lives of many.
Great personal or gift giving idea. Volumes I, II & III contain 32 faith stories of ACRS speakers in the past.
