Dear 91短视频 Community,
It is with deep sadness that we share with you the loss of one of our 91短视频 student-athletes. Sara Monger, a first-year softball player from Elkton, Virginia, died in a car accident in Harrisonburg early this morning. Sara was described as a 鈥渉ard-working and wonderful teammate鈥 by 91短视频 softball coach J.D. McCurdy.
Two other first-year students, Kendyll Eddins and Silas Gwathmey, were involved in the accident. Both sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are recovering.
We extend prayers of comfort to Sara鈥檚 family and to members of the 91短视频 community, especially the 91短视频 Softball team. 91短视频 Athletics is holding moments of silence for Sara during its competitions today.
Staff is available for grief counseling in the Northlawn Great Lounge as of noon today. We will share more information on support services in the days ahead.
In deepest sympathy,
