The Royals are catching fire. A lock-down defensive effort held visiting Washington and Lee to 15.5 points less than their season average as 91¶ÌÊÓƵ's basketball women claimed an impressive 71-54 win at home Tuesday night. Now winners of five straight, the women, 9-4 overall, stand in second place in the ODAC at 4-1.

91¶ÌÊÓƵ's volleyball men have been picked No. 5 in the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) Coaches Preseason Poll, which was released today.

91¶ÌÊÓƵ's young basketball women are learning an important lesson – how to win ODAC games on the road. The Royals gutted out a 68-59 decision at Randolph College on Saturday, earning their second straight conference road victory and fourth overall.

One had to figure 91¶ÌÊÓƵ's basketball men were due for an "off" game. Unfortunately, it paired with an "on" game for host Lynchburg College, resulting in a 104-74 loss Saturday afternoon.

With a large freshman class and new coaches at the helm, the 91¶ÌÊÓƵ track & field program is struck with a level of competitiveness that will continue the solid foundation that has been laid for the team.

91¶ÌÊÓƵ's basketball women displayed a nice inside-outside game Wednesday night, earning a 60-50 road win at Hollins University. The Royals hit eight three-pointers, balanced with a career effort from center (Dumfries, Va./Potomac), as they improved to 7-4 / 2-1 ODAC.

The pre-game hype for Wednesday's rivalry game between 91¶ÌÊÓƵ and Bridgewater never paid dividends on the floor, as the Runnin Royals scored the first 10 points on their home court and never looked back in a convincing 87-60 win.
